Despite the weather forecast there actually was sunshine on Saturday and the reception hosted a beautiful dessert bar to rival any lolly bar I've ever seen. I've loved this song for so long. I have been keeping it safe for just the right wedding and Ali & Chris' wedding fit the bill perfectly.
Every little detail was filled with lots of love and thought. The brides dress was made by her close friend, Joe. Ali's love of all things vintage shaped the style and feel of the day. From the cute 1960s toga inspired bridesmaids dresses to the tailor-made suits. Books and pages of books were everywhere and it was evident that verse and poetry have defined both Ali, Chris and their relationship.
Ali and Chris wrote personal love letters to each other and exchanged them as part of the ceremony, held in the Great Hall at Brisbane Grammar School. Then, before all their guests, they opened and read aloud the letters the other had written.
It made for a lovely and romantic expression of their true feelings and one that moved many, bride and groom included, to tears.
The whole day was just beautiful. Congratulations Ali & Chris, we wish you many, many years of words and adventure.
