Wet. Would be one word to describe the day.
Beautiful, elegant, family, love, fun, outrageous would be others equally descriptive. But wet is the one I like. Plus 'Cloudy with rain. Moderate to heavy falls. Fresh and gusty E to SE winds'. Why the weather references you might wonder? Well more than just a brides concern for the weather on her big day our bride and groom's families live on the land.
The groom is 'obsessed with the weather' as shared by his Mum during her speech. When he was 6 years old he ran inside yelling that 'the sky is leaking' (for all the city folk out there (me included) yes that does actually happen!) and now he is the family weatherman giving constant weather updates! The weather, whilst wet, on the day did nothing to dampen anyone's spirits.
The whole day was filled with much laughter and frivolity right from the get go. The groom's party were slightly more subdued whilst the bride and her attendees were amused all day by the loving, fun banter of the Maid of Honour or MOH as she likes to be called. It was a lovely joining of two families who have lived and worked together for many generations.
Our deepest congratulations to Penny + Rex. May your years together be long and fruitful xx
