The Father-Of-The-Bride speech is always one of my favourites. It holds many opportunities for humour, tears, and occasionally sound advice. At Kate & Drew’s wedding on Saturday we saw all these things and more.
The day started at the Dockside Apartments in Kangaroo Point where the bride and groom got ready for their big day. Suits, ties, and fake moustaches met hair, makeup, and jewellery. With special touches from grandma who made the bride’s veil and an aunty who made the wedding cake.
The ceremony was held at the always beautiful St Stephen’s Cathedral in Brisbane city and the reception was a real oriental affair at the Golden Palace in Chinatown.
Kate’s Dad stepped up during the speeches to give some real world advice about making a marriage work. A voice of experience to pass on time tested wisdom.
So to Kate and Drew we say congratulations. We wish you much happiness and ‘enduring love’.
